Discover how Pintail drives healthcare strategy and execution.
Alzheimer’s innovation in Indiana is evolving fast. Pintail Solutions President Jason C. Bork recently discussed this momentum in BIOFUTURES magazine. In this interview, Jason reflects on Indiana’s emerging leadership in Alzheimer's diagnostics, drug development, and care models.
For years, Indiana remained under the radar in life sciences. However, things have shifted. Major players like Eli Lilly have made historic contributions to Alzheimer’s drug development. In addition, research centers in Indianapolis and across the state are shaping national progress in clinical trials and biomarker studies.
At a recent IBJ Power Breakfast, Jason noted Plug and Play's comparison of Indiana to “the next Silicon Valley”—a nod to the state’s growing biotech and healthcare impact.
Besides large corporations, Indiana’s ecosystem includes emerging labs and clinics accelerating Alzheimer's-related diagnostics and personalized care solutions.
Despite rapid scientific progress, a gap remains between research and frontline practice. Jason notes that in oncology, clinical trials often directly inform treatment paths. However, Alzheimer’s care still lags behind in applying cutting-edge tools and data in everyday clinical workflows.
Primary care providers, for example, rarely use the latest tools such as blood-based biomarkers or digital cognition assessments. As a result, patients often go undiagnosed until it’s too late for early intervention.
Indiana has an opportunity to lead this shift. With the right policy, partnerships, and training, the state can help bridge this gap in Alzheimer’s care.
Collaboration is key. Indiana's strength lies in public-private coordination, academic leadership, and fast-moving innovation. Researchers, clinicians, and solution providers are aligning to move the science into practice faster than ever.
“The science is ready,” Jason emphasizes. “Now the question is—can healthcare delivery systems keep up?”
At Pintail Solutions, our role is to help those systems activate strategy and turn progress into impact. That’s how Indiana becomes a national model.
“Indiana isn’t just participating in the conversation—it’s leading the future of Alzheimer’s care.” — Jason C. Bork
